Activity ID: 2026-09-07T23:55:00-HSS-001 (version 2)
Event End Time:
Peak Solar Wind Speed (km/s): 615.0
Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb: 2026-08-29
Note: Characterized by an increase in velocity, from 450 km/s at 2026-09-07T23:55Z to ~615 km/s by 2026-09-08T05:50Z, and an increase in temperature, from ~264,000 K at 2026-09-08T00:09Z to ~586,000 K at 2026-09-08T00:41Z. This signature is preceded by the likely mixed arrival of two combined CMEs and a corotating interaction region, where an amplification of magnetic field components with Btotal increasing from around 4nT at 2026-09-07T06:07Z to 17.4nT by 2026-09-07T10:47Z is observed. An increase in density is observed alongside the amplification of magnetic field components, with density increasing from ~11 p/cc at 2026-09-07T06:07Z to 32.4 p/cc at 2026-09-07T12:38Z. The source for this high speed stream arrival is a coronal hole spanning latitude N10 to S10 which first crossed the central meridian on 2026-09-03. Following examination of additional solar wind data, the start time has been updated from 2026-09-07T06:06Z to 2026-09-07T23:55Z.
